Telefonica confirms 3-year Formula 1 deal

Telefonica and Liberty Media have announced a deal to continue broadcasting Formula 1 races in Spain on the Movistar+ pay-TV service until 2020. In a statement that confirms earlier reports, the partners said the 21 annual Grands Prix of the competition will be aired on the Movistar F1 channel over the next 3 seasons. The new agreement includes coverage of Friday and Saturday's practice sessions, qualifying and races. In addition, Movistar+ has been granted a number of further digital rights, with F1 helping Movistar+ to produce exclusive content for distribution across digital and social
