Telefonica confirms talks to acquire E-Plus from KPN

Monday 22 July 2013 | 20:13 CET | News
Telefonica Deutschland has confirmed talks on a possible acquisition of KPN's German mobile operator E-Plus. KPN would only confirm that it is in talks with an unnamed party. Details of a potential transaction are still being negotiated. The Financial Times reported earlier, citing two people close the negotiations, that Telefonica would pay around EUR 6 billion in cash and stock for E-Plus. KPN would receive a small stake in the new company to be formed from merging Telefonica Deutschland and E-Plus.
