Telefonica considering IPO of Mexican unit - CFO

Telefonica is considering an initial public offering of its Mexican subsidiary as an alternative to an outright sale of the unit, according to the group's chief financial officer. "It's a growing business that could be attractive for an initial public offering," said Angel Vila at a Morgan Stanley investor conference in Barcelona, according to Reuters. "It's a very good opportunity. We've been in Mexico for so many years… and now that it's starting to fly and make money, it would be strange for us to leave now," he added.
