Telefonica considering IPO of new infrastructure subsidiary

Telefonica has confirmed that it is examining the possibility of listing its recently-created global infrastructure unit Telxius. "Telefonica is analysing different alternative strategies, including a possible Initial Public Offering," said the company in a statement to Spanish market regulator CNMV. Earlier this week, the operator announced the establishment of Telxius, a new subsidiary to manage its global infrastructure, including around 15,000 towers in Spain and other countries, as well as Telefonica's 31,000km of fibre cable, including the SAM-1 cable linking the US and Latin
