Telefonica, Disney to create dedicated Star Wars channel

Telefonica has signed an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to bring a wide range of Star Wars-related content to its Movistar+ pay-TV platform, including a dedicated channel, in time for the release of the new 'Star Wars: the Force Awakens' movie on 18 December. As part of the deal, Telefonica will broadcast the previous six films of the Star Wars saga, as well as the new movie a few months after its theatrical release.
