Telefonica, Ericsson deploy Radio Dot System at MWC

Ericsson has announced the live deployment of its Radio Dot System on Telefonica's network at the Hotel Ayre Gran Via Barcelona and at its MWC stand. The demonstration will use the 1800 MHz spectrum band, supporting LTE-A carrier aggregation, in coordination with Telefonica's 2600 MHz LTE commercial network, to demonstrate how the technology improves downlink performance in indoor environments. The Radio Dot System introduces a compact antenna element, or "Dot", that weighs less than 300 grams and synchronises with the macrocell network. Ericsson said the system caters to both business and
