Telefonica, Ericsson to convert Barcelona's Campo Nou into Europe's first 5G stadium

Telefonica and FC Barcelona have announced an agreement to convert the club's Camp Nou into the first football stadium in Europe with standard dedicated 5G coverage. During a presentation at MWC 2019 the partners said the deployment of 5G technology in the stands and on the pitch using the operator's commercial frequency band and a standard 3GPP network from Ericsson will pave the way for new, more immersive ways of enjoying sporting events at the continent's largest stadium.
