Telefonica Germany may hive off call centres - report

Telefonica Germany told 2,100 employees at an internal meeting that the call centres in Hamburg, Bremen and Nuremberg might be spun off and turned into independent companies, RP-online.de reports. According to a manager cited, the need for personal customer service will decrease as digitisation plays a greater role. The company wants to encourage customers to conclude or renew contracts online, while more complex subjects will still be dealt with by experts.
