Telefonica Germany outlines plans for network consolidation

Cayetano Carbajo, CTO at Telefonica Germany, has outlined plans to merge the two networks O2 and E-Plus, taking the current 40,000 transmitter sites down to 26,000 once the core network is consolidated, he announced at the Ericsson Innovation Day, teltarif.de reports. In order to become the frontrunner in network quality, Carbaja highlighted the importance of a faster delivery of new products and services, and to increase efficiency and reliability, whilst lowering the costs.
