Telefonica Germany says young people embrace smartphones

Telefonica Germany said 70 percent of O2 Deutschland contract customers own a smartphone, compared with 50 percent of Germans over 14 years old cited by a recent Bitkom report. Telefonica said a recent VATM study shows that mobile data transmission went up 21 percent in 2013 to 170.1 million gigabytes. Worldwide, 76 percent of people aged 18 to 30 own a smartphone and spend more than six hours a day online. Its Telefonica Global Millennial Study found that 81 percent of respondents in Germany consider that technology offers improved opportunities for everyone, not just for the few. Young
