Telefonica Germany signs wholesale pact with Tele Columbus to offer O2 products on network
German cable operator Tele Columbus said that it has signed a long-term wholesale agreement with Telefonica Germany to allow the firm to offer O2 broadband products on its network.

Tele Columbus will open its network of around 2.3 million connected households to Telefonica. Through the agreement, Telefonica will supply customers connection at up to 1 Gbps in the future.  

Telefonica said that it aims to offer both retail and business customers fixed-network and DSL services in addition to mobile communications services via its O2 brand. It already signed a fixed-network agreement with Vodafone that allows access to Vodafone's and Unitymedia’s cable networks in Germany, while it has cooperated with Deutsche Telekom in the fixed-network business for years.

Deutsche Telekom said it has extended its contract with Telefonica for access to its broadband network for the next ten years. Under the pact, which applies in Germany, Deutsche Telekom will grant Telefonica access to FTTH lines with download speeds of up to 1 Gbps for the first time. Telefonica will market Telekom's FTTH connections to its customers.

Telefonica Germany sees revenues grow 2% in Q3 after 22% jump in LTE customers, confirms outlook for 2019

Telefonica Germany said that it recorded a 2.1 percent increase in underlying revenues year-on-year to EUR 1.87 billion in Q3, thanks to a strong performance in mobile service revenue and handset demand. Handset revenues were up 6.4 percent year-on-year to EUR 318 million during the period. Revenues grew in total by 1.9 percent year-on-year in Q3 to EUR 1.87 billion including a regulatory effect of EUR 15 million.
