Telefonica Germany to cut jobs sooner than expected

Friday 27 March 2015 | 15:39 CET | News
Telefonica Germany is starting its personnel cuts following the merger with E-Plus. According to Focus magazine, Drillisch will buy 301 of the 1,800 Telefonica shops for the symbolical value of about EUR 300, allowing Telefonica to cut jobs faster than originally planned. The Duesseldorf-based company owns 100 shops with about 350 employees. In addition to the downsizing of staff in stores, O2 plans to cut another 700 jobs in the form of redundancies within the company. A total of 1,600 jobs are to be cut by 2018.
