Telefonica Germany to reach 90% LTE coverage by end-2016

Wednesday 15 April 2015 | 11:30 CET | News
Telefonica Germany has announced it will expand its LTE network by merging the 4G networks of E-Plus and O2 by mid-2016. Currently, Telefonica is lagging behind its competitors regarding LTE coverage because O2 and E-Plus started their expansion much later than Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone Germany, but Telefonica plans to reach 90 percent coverage by the end of next year. This aim refers to coverage of open spaces, and building interiors might still have reception gaps. Telefonica says it covers 62 percent of the population with LTE at the moment.
