Telefonica Germany upgrades Smart Meter Connect platform

Telefonica Germany has added new capabilities to the Telefonica Smart Meter Connect system. The M2M platform for utility companies can now transmit the encrypted consumption data from connected meters directly via the power supply system. The upgraded system will be presented at the E-World Energy & Water trade fair in Essen. The new CommsHub box can be plugged into existing intelligent metering systems and connect them with the operating company via the internet of things (IoT).
