Telefonica highlights growth at O2 UK

Telefonica has raised the possibility that its proposed sale of O2 UK to CK Hutchison may not go ahead, as the Spanish operator resumed mention of the UK operator in its quarterly report. Telefonica has not reported directly on O2 since it agreed in xx to sell the company, deeming it a discontinued operation held for sale. In its Q1 report however, the company mentioned on the first page the strong cash flow and OIBDA growth at O2 UK. This follows recent reports that the European Commission is set to veto the proposed acquisition, which would see O2 merged with 3 UK and reduce the UK market
