Telefonica, Huawei complete SDN-based IP field trial in Peru

Telefonica Peru and Huawei have announced that a software-defined networking (SDN)-based IP and optical synergy field trial conducted in the South American country has been successfully completed a year after it begun. In a statement, Telefonica described the field trial as a key milestone to finally commercialising the SDN-based IP and optical synergy product. It added that the technology would allow the company to analyse the potential of new businesses, leading to further optimisation of mobile networks.
