Telefonica inks deal to become Nestle global IoT provider

Telefonica Business Solutions, the B2B unit of Spanish telecommunications operator Telefonica, has signed an agreement to become the global Internet of Things (IoT) provider for Nestle's range of coffee machines in over 50 countries. Under the terms of the deal, Telefonica's Smart m2m platform will be integrated in the Nestle Professional range of coffee machines, with legacy versions fitted with an add-on module providing the same capabilities. Nestle will then be able to monitor the newly-connected machines, controlling a range of parameters and improving efficiency via remote configuration
