Telefonica Mexico sales up 6% in Q2 on postpay rise

Thursday 25 July 2019 | 10:01 CET | News
Telefonica Mexico consolidated its return to growth in the second quarter of 2019, with sales up 6.1 percent year on year on a reported basis to EUR 316 million. The result was again driven by improvements in postpay customer numbers and a 10.1 percent rise in handset revenues to EUR 73 million. However, the company's operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) fell by 55.9 percent year on year to EUR 24 million in the second quarter due to the market's high competitive intensity and by spectrum commitments recorded as OpEx since the fourth quarter of 2018.
