Telefonica mulls sale of German fixed-line unit - report

Thursday 25 April 2013 | 16:40 CET | News
Telefonica is considering selling its broadband and fixed-line business in Germany as it looks to reduce debt, reports Bloomberg citing unnamed source familiar with the matter. The unit has 2.4 million broadband customers and could be sold to one of its rivals. The business has a value of up to EUR 2 billion, including debt. Telefonica Germany's fixed-line network reaches around 67 percent of households, with wireless business revenue falling 4.4 percent in 2012 to EUR 1.36 billion.
