Telefonica said it will be launching its inaugural home insurance service in association with Santalucia and BBVA Allianz in the coming weeks. The service will be offered under the Telefonica Seguros brand for customers and non-customers alike, with a range of flexible policies covering areas such as water damage, fire, theft, legal protection and household appliance repairs.
Customers will be able to buy the policies via several channels including the movistar.es website, Movistar physical stores or by calling a dedicated home insurance service centre, said Telefonica, which already offers a range of products beyond traditional telecommunications services. They include device insurance, cyber risk insurance, e-health services, the Movistar Prosegur alarm business and even solar energy.
