Telefonica to eliminate historic TTP payphone unit

Telefonica Spain has decided to absorb its historic public payphone unit TTP (Telefonica Telecomunicaciones Publicas) as part of its ongoing reorganisation and efficiency plan, reports business daily Cinco Dias. All universal service obligations related to the kiosks will now be provided directly by Telefonica Spain, while the operator's health services division will handle the maintenance of defibrillators attached to some of the kiosks, said the report.
