Telefonica to launch video services in 7 new LatAm countries

Telefonica has confirmed that it will launch video services in seven new Latin American markets in 2016 with a view to reaching its goal of becoming the leading pay-TV company in the world in Spanish and Portuguese. The services, mainly VoD (video on demand) and linear TV channels, will be rolled out in Ecuador, Uruguay, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua. Telefonica said the video service will be launched in each country at different times and will include its own productions as well as exclusive content.
