Telefonica, in partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks, will present a live LTE demonstration with high-speed mobile broadband applications in a real-network environment. The demonstration will be delivered at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. Comprising LTE radio and core network equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks in a real-network environment and using pre-commercial LTE terminals, the demo will show mobile broadband applications with real mobility. Telefonica will showcase the capability to rapidly download high-resolution videos both on its booth and in a moving van on the streets of Barcelona around the FIRA exhibition center served by a live LTE base station on an existing Telefonica site. Visitors will also be able to test LTE connections by comparing download times and image quality of the same video across an existing HSPA network. Other applications to be showcased include LTE powered video conferencing.
