Telefonica to set up EUR 6 mln IoT cybersecurity HQ in Valencia

Telefonica has announced plans to launch a dedicated IoT Cybersecurity and Smart City data centre in Valencia in a total investment of EUR 6 million over the next 3 years. The 300-square-meter space will be located in the former HQ of the Alinghi sailing team in Marina de Valencia and will also incorporate a co-working centre for local IoT startups. Telefonica Spain’s new CEO Emilio Gayo announced the project during a meeting with the president of the Valencian government Ximo Puig and the city’s mayor Joan Ribo.
