Telefonica to use IoT technology in biodiversity research

Telefonica has signed an agreement with Spanish foundation FIEB (Foundation for Research in Ethology and Biodiversity) to harness the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the field of wildlife conservation and biodiversity. Under the terms of the deal, the partners will set up an extensive network of CCTV cameras and environmental M2M sensors at FIEB's facilities just outside Madrid to monitor and analyse animal behaviour. These will provide FIEB's experts and other researchers with information on the animals' living conditions, temperature, humidity, noise, and so on,
