Telefonica, Vueling present 20 Mbps in-flight Wi-Fi service

Telefonica and Spain-based airline Vueling have announced further details of the in-flight Wi-Fi service to be launched in a few weeks and which promises download speeds of up to 20 Mbps. One of the Airbus A320s in Vueling's fleet has already been updated with the corresponding Wi-Fi technology based on a High Throughput Satellite (HTS) system that provides expanded capabilities compared to traditional satellites. Antennas installed on the plane connect to Eutelsat's Ka-Sat satellite, with a bandwidth capacity at least 70 times higher than conventional satellites. "The in-flight broadband
