Telekom Austria CEO moves to Vodafone Germany
Vodafone Germany announced the appointment of Hannes Ametsreiter as its new CEO from 1 October. The supervisory board will decide on the proposal at its next board meeting on 30 June. In addition to his position as CEO, Ametsreiter is due to be appointed to the worldwide Executive Committee of the Vodafone Group. 

Ametsreiter is currently chairman and CEO of Telekom Austria as well as CEO of A1 Telekom Austria. Telekom Austria announced his departure earlier this week. He started his career as brand manager at Procter & Gamble before he joined Mobilkom Austria as product manager in 1996. In 2001, he was promoted to CMO at Mobilkom Austria, and in 2007 to CMO at Telekom Austria. He became CEO in 2009.

Ametsreiter replaces Jens Schulte-Bockum, who announced in May that he would step down as Vodafone Germany CEO in the course of this year. He held the position since early 2012 and led the company's expansion in the fixed market with the acquisition of Kabel Deutschland.

A1 Austria names Bothe as Head of HR

A1 Austria announced the appointment of Sabine Bothe as Head of HR as of 1 March. In this position, the 43-year old German-born will be responsible for the HR strategy and implementation, recruitment, personnel development and further training as well as for performance management. Bothe will report to A1 CEO, Margarete Schrambock, as well as to the Director Group HR, Jesper Smith.

Vodafone Germany announced that Alexander Saul and Gerhard Mack will join the management team. As of 1 April, Saul will manage the business customer segment, while Mack will be in charge of the Commercial Operations segment. The current managers Robert Hackl and Philip Lacor will resign at the end of the business year, ending 31 March.

Vodafone Germany CEO gives up private office

Vodafone Germany CEO Hannes Ametsreiter has given up his private office as it is empty up to 90 percent of the time because managers travel or are in meetings most of the time, he told Faz.net. When he is at the German headquarters, he uses the open-plan office at a table with his board colleagues. For confidential talks, he books a meeting room.

A1 Austria has appointed Michael Seitlinger as head of Regulatory & Public Affairs as of 01 February. In his new position, the 37-year old is responsible for the regulatory positioning of A1 in Austria, and acts as primary contact for all regulatory issues.

Michael Jungwirth, currently A1 Director Human Resources and Telekom Austria Group Director European and Regulatory Affairs, will leave the company by the end of 2015 upon mutual agreement. Jungwirth has been with the company for nine years and has held several positions within A1 and Telekom Austria Group.

Telekom Austria lowers FY revenue outlook after flat H1

Telekom Austria Group announced that Hannes Ametsreiter will resign as CEO of Telekom Austria and A1 Telekom Austria with effect from 31 July.
