Telekom Austria council seeks statement of intent from govt

Monday 12 August 2013 | 11:26 CET | News
The head of Telekom Austria's works council has called on the Austrian government to make a statement of intent regarding the future of its shareholding in the company, reports the Wall Street Journal. This comes after Mexican telecoms company America Movil, which controls 22.76 percent of Telekom Austria shares, confirmed plans to acquire a majority stake in Dutch company KPN. The head of Telekom Austria's works council, Alexander Sollak, said that developments at KPN could make a similar scenario possible for Telekom Austria.
