Telekom Austria to get new CEO from September

Thomas Arnoldner will replace Alejandro Plater as CEO of the Telekom Austria Group from 01 September, according to an agreement reached by major shareholders America Movil and the Austrian State and Industrial Holding (OBIB). The appointment must still be confirmed by a supervisory board meeting after the AGM. 

Arnoldner comes from T-Systems Austria and has also held management positions at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent. Plater will become COO after the appointment, bringing the Telekom Austria management board back to three members. 

OBIB and America Movil also announced to the supervisory board the nomination of Edith Hlawati, Bettina Glatz-Kremsner and Daniela Lecuona as new members. The supervisory board will be elected at the next AGM on 30 May. Hlawati is expected to be elected chairwoman of the supervisory board, as Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer has announced that he will resign as chairman at the AGM.

A1 Telekom Austria Group's revenues up 1.3 percent in Q2

A1 Telekom Austria Group's revenues increased by 1.3 percent to EUR 1.1 billion in the second quarter. Net profit fell to EUR 58 million, compared to EUR 112.5 million in Q2 2017, but excluding the brand value amortisation of EUR 72.4 million, the net result grew by 15.9 percent in Q2, the company said.

Telekom Austria appoints new supervisory board chairwoman, two members

Telekom Austria has appointed Edith Hlawati as the new chairwoman of the supervisory board, and Bettina Glatz-Kremsner and Daniela Lecuona Torras as new members of the supervisory board. During the AGM, a dividend for 2017 of EUR 0.20 per share was approved. Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer resigned as chairman of the supervisory board and Stefan Pinter and Reinhard Kraxner also left the board.

Telekom Austria eyes expansion to new markets in East Europe

Telekom Austria is still interested in expanding through acquisitions in eastern Europe, CEO Alejandro Plater said at a meeting with journalists in Vienna. This can include acquisitions in its existing markets and expansion to new countries.
