TELEKOM MALAYSIA TO LAUNCH JV

MTN Network (Sri Lanka), in which Telekom Malaysia has a majority share, will begin operations in 1994. The firm has awarded a MDlr25 mil contract to Alcatel (France) for the supply and installation of a GSM network to serve 10k mobile customers. Mohammed Said Mohammed Ali, executive director of Telekom Malaysia, has been appointed director of MTN Network.
