Telekom Slovenije, Si.mobil violate net neutrality law

Slovenian operators Telekom Slovenije and Si.mobil have been found in violation of the principle of net neutrality by the national regulator Akos. Both companies violated the Electronic Communications Act with their unequal treatment, or 'zero rating', of data traffic offered to customers for selected services. Telekom Slovenije offered free data traffic to certain customers for the Deezer streaming music service, while Si.mobil did not charge for data traffic to its cloud storage service 'Hangar mapa'. Akos said the operators have 60 days to stop charging differently the traffic for the data services or face sanctions.
