Telenet, Belgacom strengthen duopoly on Belgian fixed market

Telenet remains the biggest provider on the Belgian consumer fixed market, followed by incumbent Belgacom. The two dominant operators expanded their share of the market further in the fourth quarter of 2014 to a combined 78.7 percent of revenues, according to the latest research from Telecompaper. Telenet generated revenues from consumer TV, internet and fixed telephony services of EUR 280 million in the quarter, while Belgacom, including its subsidiary Scarlet, posted EUR 274 million in sales.
