Telenet buys 50% in De Vijver Media

Cable operator Telenet agreed to acquire Sanoma Media's 50 percent stake in De Vijver Media for EUR 26 million. It will also inject EUR 32 million in the media company to support its development of Flemish TV programming. Wouter Vandenhaute, CEO of De Vijver Media and his business partner, Erik Watte, keep 25 percent of the shares through their company W&W, and Corelio also maintains a 25 percent stake in De Vijver Media. De Vijfer Media owns the SBS channels Vier and Vijf and the production house Woestijnvis. Telenet said the stake in the company will not be consolidated and the new
