Telenet eyes bid for SBS stake, football rights - report

Belgian cable operator Telenet has shown interest in acquiring part of the Belgian SBS assets owned by publisher Sanoma. The deal would see Telenet acquire a third of the shares in the channels Vier and Vijf. Sanoma said earlier it's looking to scale back its activities, and Telenet is now being named a potential buyer, the paper De Tijd reported. The two Belgian channels currently have three shareholders, each with a third of the shares. The other two are Woestijnvis and media group Corelio. RTL is also reportedly interested, according to the Belgian press. Telenet is also looking at
