Telenet to launch Horizon box, not necessarily with Netflix

Thursday 15 September 2016 | 16:46 CET | News
The agreement for Liberty Global to offer Netflix to its cable customers likely won't be implemented soon in Belgium, where Liberty owns the operator Telenet. This is because Telenet has not rolled out the group's Horizon software needed to run the Netflix app. Telenet expects to migrate to the Horizon platform in 2017, local paper De Tijd reported. However, a Telenet spokesman said it was not yet known whether Netflix would be offered after the Horizon roll-out. Telenet's main rival in the Belgian market, Proximus already offers Netflix on its set-top box.
