Telenor appoints Mehrotra as CEO of India ops

Telenor Group has appointed Sharad Mehrotra as CEO of Telenor India, effective 1 November. Mehrotra replaces Vivek Sood who will take over the position of EVP and CMO at Telenor Group. As CEO of Telenor India, Mehrotra will be a member of the new executive management, Telenor said. Mehrotra was part of the management team of Uninor from 2008 until 2013 and was head of Telenor Group's Asia distribution programme, The Economic Times reports. The company has recently changed its brand name to Telenor India from Uninor.
