Telenor Denmark rolls out LTE+ in major cities

Telenor Denmark announced the roll-out of LTE+ to the largest cities. Using carrier aggregation technology, the operator is in the process of upgrading 430 towers in Copenhagen, Aalborg, Odense, Aarhus and Roskilde to offer double the speeds and capacity on the LTE network. Telenor said the upgrade is needed to meet the growing demand for mobile data, and especially streaming video services. The operator is combining spectrum in the 1,800 and 2,600 MHz bands to provide the increased capacity in congested areas. It will upgrade around 100 sites before year-end and another 360 in Q1 2016.
