
Norway’s Telenor Group has appointed Petter Furberg as chief executive officer of Telenor Myanmar, effective from when the company receives formal approval from the relevant Myanmar authorities. In his role, Furberg will be responsible for the roll out of telecommunications network and services in Myanmar.
Since joining Telenor 14 years ago, Furberg has held a number of senior management positions within the company, including Dtac's CFO and chief marketing officer, where he oversaw product development, sales and marketing. He also previously served as senior vice president, head of financial services at Telenor Group. Prior to joining Telnor he held senior positions with the Norwegian Parliament and Norwegian Ministry of Finance.
Telenor has also appointed other members of Telenor Myanmar's executive management team. The appointments include Tipayarat Kaewsringarm as chief people officer, Lars Erik Tellmann as chief financial officer, Prathet Tankuranun as chief technology officer, Sharad Mehrotra as chief marketing officer and Gunnar Bertelsen as chief corporate affairs officer. All the above appointments are pending approval from the Myanmar government.
