Telenor Norway denies delay to mobile coverage expansion

Friday 22 November 2013 | 12:20 CET | News
Telenor Norway said it has expanded its network in outlying districts at a record rate. It said it has activated 300 new base stations per month during the autumn, with an aggressive development of both 3G and 4G equipment. It said it has been deploying infrastructure both in residential and holiday location, including in Sennalandet in Finnmark. Coverage director Bjorn Amundsen said he reacted with disbelief and irritation to an article in The Nation, which claimed that improvements in mobile coverage were on hold, adding that it will continue to expand its coverage nationwide.
