Telenor Norway makes 182 voluntary severances

Telenor Norway said it has granted voluntary redundancy to 182 people. From 05 March to 26 March, it offered voluntary redundancies to all employees of Telenor Norway AS and Canal Digital Cable TV, as part of efforts to reduce costs. The total number of applicants for redundancy was 266. More than 100 people are also expected to leave for early retirement during the course of the year. Telenor Norway will also reduce its use of consultants by the equivalent of 207 person-years before the end of the year. CEO Berit Svendsen said it has set an efficiency target equivalent to 450 person-years
