Telenor Norway says video accounts for 70% of traffic

Friday 8 April 2016 | 09:59 CET | News
Telenor Norway said that video now accounts for 70 percent of traffic on its broadband network, compared with 60 percent eighteen months ago. The main services behind the heavy usage are Netflix, Norwegian broadcaster NRK's online television service, TV2 Sumo, and YouTube, but there are others. Netflix single-handedly accounts for 23 percent of all Telenor's traffic, with YouTube at 18 percent, said Birgit Bjornsen, head of broadband at Telenor Norge.
