Telenor to face margin squeeze test in wholesale mobile

Norway's Post and Telecommunications Authority (NPT) has proposed tightening regulation of Telenor in the wholesale mobile market, where the company continues to dominate MVNO access. The regulator said Telenor still has significant power in the market for access and call origination on public mobile networks (market 15), with competition problems remaining since its last market analysis in 2010. Telenor's market share is still around 60 percent of wholesale minutes, although Mobile Norway (Tele2) has managed to gain some share. However, Mobile Norway's network only covers around 75 percent
