Telesat improves Q4 net profit despite lower revenues

Thursday 27 February 2020 | 15:47 CET | News
Canadian satellite operator Telesat reported lower revenues but a higher net profit in the fourth quarter. CEO Dan Goldberg said the company was pleased with the stable results and in the fact that it took important steps to ensure its future growth, such as with the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite deal with the Canadian government. The company said it also successfully refinanced all of its debt and slightly reduced borrowing costs. Looking ahead, Telesat will remain "heavily focused" on increasing the use of its in-orbit satellites and spectrum rights.
