Televisa to appeal against IFT's dominant player declaration

Mexican broadcaster Grupo Televisa has pledged to appeal against a ruling by telecom regulator IFT that it has substantial power in the pay-TV market, potentially resulting in tougher measures against the company. The IFT's decision reverses a 2015 ruling by the IFT, which concluded at the time that Televisa could not be considered a dominant player because rivals such as Megacable and Dish were increasing subscribers.
