Televisa, TV Azteca extend deal to air Mexico football team

Thursday 5 October 2017 | 11:26 CET | News
Mexican broadcasters Televisa and TV Azteca have renewed their agreement for rights to televise the men's and women's Mexico national team over the next two World Cup cycles, according to a statement released by the Mexican Football Federation. The networks triggered an automatic renewal clause in their existing contract, meaning that a rival joint bid for the rights from America Movil and NBCUniversal/Telemundo couldn't be contemplated. The deal includes the rights to broadcast games on an exclusive basis in the US as well as digital media rights for the rest of the world.
