Telia Finland to provide excess heat from data centre for district heating in Helsinki

Wednesday 21 April 2021 | 12:41 CET | News
Telia Finland and Helsinki energy company Helen have agreed to use excess heat generated by Telia's Pitajanmaki data centre for district heating for properties in the Finnish capital. The scheme will begin in June 2022 and could serve the homes of more than 20,000 Helsinki residents in the future. A heat pump produces at least 1.3 times more heat from a data centre than it consumes as electricity.
