Telia Norway said that it reached a distribution renewal agreement with Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) on 26 March, and that NENT's television channels and streaming services would be restored that afternoon. Telia TV customers have gone without NENT services since the beginning of the month as the two sides disagreed over what Telia called flexibility of customer choice and payment for material in which viewers had no interest.
The agreement enables more than 1 million Norwegian viewers to watch TV3, V4, TV6, Viasat Nature, Explorer, History, V Sport+, V Sport, V Premium, V Film Family and V Sport Golf. They can also use NENT’s streaming services Viaplay and Filmfavoritter.
By way of compensation, Telia is granting customers an extra 25 channel points to redeem in April as well as free access all month to the new streaming service Paramount+ via Telia Play. Throughout Easter, viewers can also watch the 2020 major Norwegian feature film 'Betrayed', relating the deportation of Norwegian Jews in 1942 from Oslo on a German cargo ship bound for Auschwitz.
Stein-Erik Vellan, CEO of Telia Norge, apologised for the frustrating situation that customers have endured. He said the agreement with NENT now ensures choice, variety and quality. It provides Telia viewers with Norway's broadest range of NENT output, he said, including Champions League and Bundesliga football as well as various winter sports world cup competitions in the 2021/2022 season. Telia customers can select more of NENT’s output via the Telia Choice Menu, he added
