Telia says Boliden 5G connected mining project moves to next stage

Telia Sweden said that it is continuing with the Pilot for Industrial Mobile Communication in Mining (PIMM) alongside Atlas Copco, ABB, Boliden, Ericsson, InfoVista, Volvo Construction Equipment, Wolfit, RISE and Lulea Technical University (LTU). The pilot has succeeded in using mobile communications to automate and control some operations at Boliden's mine remotely. The next stage involves enabling mine operators, maintenance staff, equipment and machinery from different providers to connect and share data with one another.
