TeliaSonera defends Uzbekistan interests

TeliaSonera has expressed concern about the operating environment in Uzbekistan, where it owns the mobile operator Ucell since 2007. The statement follows the suspension of the licence of MTS Uzbekistan, the country's largest mobile operator, and seizure of MTS's assets by the government. Ucell has also come under scrutiny apparently, as TeliaSonera said a programme will be broadcast on 19 September in Sweden (Uppdrag gransking) containing allegations related to TeliaSonera's operations in Uzbekistan. The company defended its record with Ucell, which it has grown substantially to over 9
