TeliaSonera, others discuss common approach to censorship

Scandinavian operator TeliaSonera is in talks with around a dozen other operators to agree common rules on privacy and freedom of expression, CEO Lars Nyberg told the Financial Times. He is urging operators to disclose when governments ask them to shut down their networks, even though some of these governments do not want their request made public. Nyberg said the group of operators hopes to report before the end of the year, but was unsure whether they would reach agreement.
